Impact Program
Our prayer is that every guest will choose to go beyond Emergency Shelter services and take part in our Impact Program, which is designed to meet spiritual and long-term needs, leading to God-honoring, sustainable solutions and permanent housing. In addition to basic Emergency Shelter services, our Impact Program includes:
- Daily chapel and Christian discipleship
- Life skills classes
- Ongoing case management
- Housing coordinator and Impact Designs services
Chapel
Hearing the good news about Jesus Christ is the first step towards a changed life. In the chapel at City Rescue Mission, pastors, church leaders and staff share daily messages of hope. Guests are also encouraged to attend a local church on Sundays.
Life Skills Classes
Our trained staff collaborates with service organizations and businesses to present life skills training each weekday. Sessions cover: parenting, health/wellness, financial literacy, communication, conflict resolution, housekeeping, and time management.

Case Management
Guests regularly meet with a case manager to:
- Assess needs, coordinate resources and celebrate successes throughout their stay
- Discuss ways to grow their spiritual life
- Introduce tools to lead guest to become a productive community member
Impact Designs Services
Guests who complete our Impact Shelter program are eligible for Impact Designs. This service helps guests who are working toward independent living for their families. Our housing coordinator meets with Impact Shelter guests to assist with post-shelter housing options. Volunteer designers transform entry-level, unfurnished housing rentals into warm and pleasant homes using donated household furnishings.
