WHO: Rescue Ministries of Mid-Michigan / Good Samaritan Rescue Mission
WHAT: Rescue Ministries opens Overnight Drop-In Center at Good Samaritan Rescue Mission
WHEN: Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, 6 pm to 8 am
WHERE: 713 9th Street, Bay City, MI 48708
HOW: The Overnight Drop-In Center is a coordinated project between Good Samaritan Rescue Mission and the City of Bay City to provide a place of care for those that are chronically homeless.
A newly renovated 2,000 square foot space inside the existing building of Good Samaritan was completed by Serenus Johnson Construction and now provides services for our homeless neighbors in need. The new space accommodates 35 homeless individuals and provides a safe place overnight.
CEO of Rescue Ministries, Dan Streeter states, “We worked on this new solution to homelessness for over a year with the City of Bay City. We are excited to connect with those that have critical needs while removing barriers that would have kept them from engaging in the past.”
The Center is open every night at 6pm and people can stay as long as they want until 8 am. They will have access to charging stations, showers, laundry facilities, clothing and hygiene products. For those that are interested, connections will be made to medical, housing, and mental health services.
